In her debut year as a publishing artist, Annabel Dwyer is coming in hot to the independent Nashville music scene, with no signs of slowing down.
Doubling as the lead singer of Tobacco Road, an energetic blues-rock band also debuting in 2025, Dwyer's emerging solo project is a testament to her multi-faceted artistry and poignant writing.
Born and raised in Austin, TX and recently graduated from North Carolina, Dwyer’s sound is a fascinating combination of folk, rock, and pop influences with a foundation of acoustic storytelling. Blending powerhouse female vocals reminiscent of Bonnie Raitt, Brandi Carlile and Susan Tedeschi with contemporary pop influences such as Maggie Rogers, Dwyer’s compelling lyrics and raw vocals bring a refreshing twist to the indie-folk-pop world, notably dominated by highly produced, softer female voices.
As an independent artist, Dwyer has collaborated with Cloverdale Records to record and distribute her music this year, a small label and indie artist community run by artist Evan Honer. Dwyer's captivating sound and writing led her to open for artists like harf. and Sam Burchfield in 2025, as well as the opportunity to share a stage with Amanda Shires, Coffey Anderson, and other established Texan artists at the CBS Texas "Loud for Love" benefit in July. Dwyer's performance of "heaven in the hills," her touching tribute to the Camp Mystic flooding victims, was broadcasted live to 600,000 people and contributed to raising $100,000 for Kerr County flood relief, where Dwyer herself spent her summers growing up.
With only five singles out wrapping up 2025, Dwyer’s timeless sound and songwriting indicate a promising future in her music journey. In addition to touring and recording a full LP with Tobacco Road in 2026, Dwyer is currently working on her first full-length solo album, which she hopes to record and release by September 2026.
